Final Crown and Bridge Cementation: Post-Op Instructions

Final Crown and Bridge Cementation: Post-Op Instructions

We are so glad your smile could be restored with a permanent crown or bridge. To help you keep your crown or bridge clean and your oral health on track, follow these simple steps.

  • Please do not eat or drink anything for 1 hour after your crown or bridge is cemented on.
  • Do not eat sticky or hard foods, like caramel or nuts, for 24 hours after your crown or bridge has been cemented.
  • Sensitivity to hot and/or cold for the first week or so after the final cementation may occur. If it lasts longer than ten days or continues to increase in sensitivity, call our office so that we can evaluate you.
  • If you have any discomfort or pain when biting or chewing, please contact our office. Your bite may need a simple adjustment and is not uncommon.
  • Your gums in that area may be sensitive for a few days. A warm saltwater rinse a few times a day will help with any discomfort.

Your new crown or bridge was made specifically for you and should function and look like a natural tooth. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our office at 702-331-2121 and we will be happy to help.
